1. After you submit the declaration and JASANZ has updated your scope of accreditation to include ISO 22003-1:2022 as a self declaration you can start auditing for both new and existing customers. There is no wait period, only that it is on your accreditation schedule.
2. IAF MD 27 is the guidance document provided by IAF for the transition, along with the JASANZ transition policy in sharepoint. The deadline of 30 December 2024 is the date on which CABs must start auditing all customers to ISO 22003-1; however, it is also a requirement that for all new customers you must use ISO 22003-1 from 1 July 2024. This will mainly affect the audit duration and audit report.
3. You do not need to audit the transition, simply go ahead with the audit as you would normally conduct it. The ISO 22000 certificate you issue to your clients will only change if they are affected by the change to categories BIII, CO and K and this impact on the Scope Statement on the certificate. For most clients I would not expect their certificate to change and you do not need to re-issue it.
4. Please note that all existing certified clients must have their audits conducted to ISO 22003-1 by 30 June 2025. This means that if you do not start audits for you existing clients until 30 December 2024, you MUST complete all audits in six months and could reduce the audit window for customers that are not due to have their next audit until the July - December 2025 period. My suggestion is that avoid problems with completing all update audits that you start audits for all clients to ISO 22003-1 from 1 July 2024.
